    This policy explains how AdApt, a product of HeyNews LLC ("we", "us"), uses cookies and similar technologies on adapt.heynews.co. Optional cookies stay off until you choose to allow them. You can change that choice at any time.

    What cookies are

    Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. We also use browser storage and tracking scripts that work in a similar way. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of them.

    The categories we use

    Essential

    These keep you signed in, protect your account, remember your cookie choice, and let you pay through Stripe. They are always on because the product does not work without them. Declining everything else still lets you sign up, sign in, adapt ad copy and manage billing.

    Functional

    ProductLift runs our feedback board and changelog. It loads only if you allow functional cookies.

    Analytics

    These tell us how people use AdApt so we can fix what is confusing. With your permission we load Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Customer.io and the HubSpot chat widget. Mixpanel and Amplitude can record anonymised session replays; text you type into forms stays masked. If you are signed in, your account is linked to this data only after you allow analytics.

    Advertising

    These measure whether our ads and affiliate referrals work. With your permission we load the Reddit Pixel and the Affonso affiliate pixel. We do not send your email address or account ID to Reddit. When you sign up, Affonso receives your email so we can credit the affiliate who referred you.

    Analytics and advertising are separate choices. Allowing one does not turn on the other. The full, current list of cookies, with their names and lifetimes, is in the cookie settings panel.

    Changing your choice

    We ask for your choice on your first visit. To change it later, use the "Cookie Preferences" link in the site footer, or "Cookie preferences" in the account menu inside the app. If you withdraw consent, we stop sending new data to that category straight away and clear the identifiers those tools set in the app.

    You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will sign you out and may stop parts of the product from working.
